1. Mahindra eKUV100

Mahindra to launch a brand new Electric SUV variant of Mahindra KUV, that is Mahindra eKUV, which is also showcased at Auto Expo 2020. The ex-showroom price is expected to start from Rs.8.25 Lakh. Mahindra eKUV can go to 0-100kmph in just 9 sec and top speed of 186kmph.



Battery Capacity

Mahindra eKUV100 has 15.9kWh battery pack and assist fast-charging which will be charged up to 80 percent in just one hour. With this huge battery, the electric variant of Mahindra offers a range of 147km.

Technology

Electric vehicles are known for its tech features which will make it great. Mahindra eKUV100 has tech savvy features such as location tracking, Cabin precooling, remote diagnostics, and monitoring the driving pattern of the driver. 

Safety Features

Safety is the first thing to be noticed by everything, Mahindra has come up with total safety measures such as rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, front seat-belt alert, over speeding alert, and ABS with EBD. Apart from this affordable electric variant, Mahindra has also showcased concepts of the XUV300 EV and XUV500 EV.

2. Jaguar I-Pace

Jaguar is set to launch its first all-electric car this year in India. Jaguar I-Pace, an luxury crossover SUV, which is expected to launch in February, 2021 and it has a price tag between Rs.1.00-1.20 Crore. Jaguar I-Pace can accelerate 0-100kmph in just 4.8 Sec and top speed of 200kmph.


Battery Capacity

Jaguar I-Pace installed with a 90kWh battery, which is made up of high energy density lithium-ion pouch cells. Jaguar I-Pace with its futuristic design has thermal management system which backs endurance and maximum power. It ranges upto 470km in a single charge. 


If you charge at home with a jaguar equipped 11kW 3 phase AC on board charger, which can recharge your vehicle and deliver up to 53km range per hour. A mode 2 charge is also supplied which can be used as a domestic socket, it will charge slowly as compared to the wall charge. It ranges upto 6km per hour which is efficient if you charge it overnight.


Jaguar I-Pace also comes with an optional mode 3 cable for Public charging points. A 50kW charger provides up to 270km of range per hour. One can easily find public AC charging points by using Jaguar Remote app or the Navigation system.

Technology

Jaguar I-Pace offers amazing tech features like the PIVI Pro infotainment system as familiar as a smartphone. Important information like Navigation, Contacts, and Media is just only every one tap away. More such features include Online Pack, Data enabled Wifi built right into I-Pace, Smartphone Pack, Secure Tracker. 3. Nissan leaf

Nissan to launch its next-gen all-electric leaf this year in the month of February, 2021. This Hatchback is designed with futuristic technology. And its estimated price will be Rs. 30.00 Lakh onwards. Nissan leaf acceleration will go  0-100kmph in just 7.9 Sec and achieves a top speed of 144kmph.

Brand new Nissan Leaf has a 40kWh battery pack which gets more energy capacity without increasing its size. With this capacity its energy will increase by 67 per cent as compared to its predecessor. Its lithium-ion battery delivers an estimated range of 400km.

Technology

The all new-gen Nissan leaf has futuristic technology. It has three I’s design philosophy of the company’s EV - Intelligent driving, Intelligent power and Intelligent integration. 

Some of the outstanding features are ProPilot autonomous driving, is a self-driving single-lane feature that follows a vehicle in front with a speed preset by the driver in between 30kmph and 100kmph. Nissan Leaf has ProPilot Park features, in which by using 12 ultrasonic sensors and four high-res cameras, takes control of acceleration, handling, shift-changing, braking and parking brakes pilot car into the parking area.

4. Porsche Taycan

Porsche to launch the much awaited Sedan, Taycan Electric in February, 2021. Expected price tag of this German beauty to be started from Rs. 1.08 Cr. The Porsche Taycan top variant can go 0-100kmph in just 2.8 Sec and achieves a top speed of 162kmph.


Battery Capacity

This Porsche beauty has used system voltage of 800-volts instead of regular 400-volts for electric cars. This gives it high-performance which also reduces the time for changing and decreases the weight and installation space for cabling.


The total capacity in Porsche is 93.4kWh. This performance battery plus in the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S contains 33 cell modules of 12 individual cells each,  a total of 396, which is known as Pouch Cells. The benefits of this kind of cell are reduction in Weight, Charges fast.


With this uniquely used system Taycan provides a range of 308km, Taycan 4s with 305km, Taycan Turbo with 351km and Taycan Turbo S with 329km.

Technology

The all new 2021 Porsche Taycan EV provides a very convenient plug and charge function, an attractive head-up display, “Smartlift” function for the  adaptive air suspension, and Active Lane Keep Assist.


This Porsche has an eco-friendly leather-free cabin made from recycled materials. It offers a multifunctional power steering, automatic climate control, and 14-way adjustable seats.


It has 10.9 inch central touchscreen infotainment console supports latest connectivity options, optional second passenger display and pre-installed voice commands which can be accessed by saying “Hey Porsche”.

Safety Features

Porsche Taycan has a crash-optimized body, a full package which will ensure maximum protection. It has four or five three-point belts with force limiters fitted as standard. Also has a side impact protection system in the doors and side airbags. With these classic airbags, it also has one knee airbag each for the driver and front passenger.

In complete, this new Porsche features eight airbags, side bags are optional. It also has appropriate child seats which are securely anchored.

5. Audi e-tron

Audi is set to launch its all-electric luxury sporty SUV e-tron in February, 2021. Expected price of this speedster to be from Rs.1.50 Cr. Audi E-tron accelerates  0-100kmph in just 5.5 Sec and achieves a top speed of 124kmph.


Battery Capacity

The Audi e-tron has in it a 95kWh battery pack out of which 83.6 kWh is usable. And this will be charged from 0 to 80% in around 30 min using its fast-charger 150kW DC. With this battery capacity it will range to 400km.

Technology Features

Audi e-tron has exciting tech features which will make it a next-gen sporty electric car. It offers top infotainment system MMI navigation, it runs on dual touchscreens with a 10.1 inch display on top 8.8-inch below it.


Its upper screen provides access to the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps as well as the available Bang & Olufsen audio system, the bottom screen is mainly used for controlling the climate settings.  Plus LTE advanced and WiFi hotspot for passengers on board as standard. This navigation provides you with intelligent suggestions for destinations based on the routes you have visited early. 

Safety Features

Audi E-tron 2021 has been certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but not been tested by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (HHS). It also offers standard driver-assistance technology and they are available with cruise control and self-parking assist. Key safety features include Forward Collision warning, automatic emergency braking, Bline spot monitoring, Rear cross-traffic alert and Lane departure warning.

6. Tesla Model 3

Tesla, the market leader in electric vehicles in the world, has announced it will enter India this year with its one of the successful models,  Tesla Model 3, a fastback Sedan,  in March, 2021. It’s price is expected around Rs. 60.00 Lakh. Tesla Model 3 accelerates  0-100kmph in just 3.1 Sec and achieves a top speed of 162kmph.

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 has a battery capacity of 83kWh, which this battery size will range to 450km+ for the base variant. It will charge in full by 5 hours 45 min, based on the battery capacity by the charge capacity of the  charge point. You can charge it at home with 120 or 240 volt power outlets or in Tesla’s power station.  

Technology

The 2021 Tesla Model 3 offers cool tech features, which includes Navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, a 14-speaker audio system and four standard USB Ports.


The infotainment system includes Netflix, Youtube and Plenty of games to enjoy. It also includes Navigate with Autopilot, although it found  to be inconsistent sometimes. It offers a premium connectivity package for a $9.99 monthly charge, which provides video streaming capability, satellite-view maps and live traffic visualization.

Safety Features

The all-new 2021 Tesla Model 3 has enhanced its Safety Technology. The National highway traffic safety administration have given Model 3 overall safety rating of five out of five stars in all 6 crash tests. It includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, Blind spot monitoring, Surround-view parking camera system, Sensors on all sides of the car, Adaptive cruise control.


Tesla Model 3 has full self-driving capability which offers automatic lane change, stop sign and traffic light recognition, automatic parking and summoning your car. Despite this it still requires drive to operate a car. 

7. Tata Altroz EV

Tata to launch Hatchback Altroz electric car this year. We are expecting its launch in July, 2021, with a price tag of starting from Rs.14.00 lakh. Audi E-tron accelerates  0-100kmph in just 10.0 Sec. 


Battery Capacity

The all-new Tata Altroz EV to feature a battery of 30kWh, which will offer a range of about 300km on a single charge. With its lithium-ion battery pack, it will be charged to 80% in 60 min with DC fast charging. 

Technology Features

The tech-features in Altroz EV  will be a Semi-digital instrument cluster, auto AC, connected car tech etc. 

Safety Features

As on the Safety Front, Tata Altrox EV have installed dual frontal airbags, ABS with EBD, Corner Stability Control, Front seat belt reminder, reverse parking camera, a high speed alert system, rear parking sensors etc.

8. Hyundai Kona Electric SUV

Hyundai is to launch its SUV kona electric car this year. We are expecting its launch in August, 2021, with a price tag starting from Rs.23.75 lakh onwards. Hyundai Kona accelerates  0-100kmph in just 9.7 Sec and achieves a top speed of 154kmph.


Battery Capacity

The all-new Hyundai Kona EV has two battery packs 64kWh and 39.2kWh. With this battery pack it provides a range of 484km and 305km. With this battery, it will be charged from 10 to 87 percent in 47 min using its 100kW DC fast charger. The 39.2kWh battery charges at the same speed from a 50kW DC fast charger while it takes 64 min for a 64kWh battery. A 7.2kW AC charger can charge the 39.2kWh battery from 10 to 100 percent in 6 hours while a normal household power socket takes 17 hours.

Technology

Hyundai has installed in Kona Electric with optional 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BlueLink connected car tech while the current 8-inch upgraded to offer wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has ambient lighting and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Safety Features

Hyundai Kona EV 2021 includes standard safety features. It has Rearview Camera, Six Airbags, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Traction and Stability Control and so on.
